BOXING BETTING: FEBRUARY PREVIEW
ODDSSHARK.COM |  February 06, 2014, 12:00 AM

The month of February brings a light schedule of boxing betting, but boxing odds are already available on a few interesting matchups including a highly anticipated heavyweight bout between undefeated U.K. hopeful Tyson Fury and South American champion Gonzalo Omar Basile.

Vivian Harris (31-9-2) experienced a resurgence in his prizefighting career in 2013 by recording two wins against good opponents as an underdog. Prior to his two recent wins he went 0-6-1 over seven fights, but Harris’ ultra-aggressive style makes him a legitimate threat against any Light Welterweight in the world.

The former WBA and IBA World Light Welterweight champion is currently a big 5Dimes +425 underdog to beat the odds for the third straight time on February 15 against Bradely Skeete. The undefeated Skeete (14-0) is expected to out-box his aggressive opponent for what will most likely be a unanimous decision. If Harris’ pressure is too much for the inexperienced Skeete it would make for a nice payday for anyone that takes the risk on the aging underdog.

Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KOs) will get a good test against a veteran of the ring when he faces Gonzalo Omar Basile (61-8-0, 28 KO’s). Fury earned an IBF title shot following a seventh-round win over Steve Cunningham in his last fight but an injury to David Haye forces Fury into this bout against Basile.

As the heavy -2500 boxing betting favorite at Bovada Fury is expected to put heavy leather to his opponent for an early KO win. The 5Dimes +1000 option on Basile is not recommended as he barely even has a puncher’s chance.

On February 19 the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title will be up for grabs when Daniel Geale (29-2, 15 KO’s) faces Garth Wood (12-3-1, 8 KO’s) in New South Wales, Australia. Geale is expected to dominate as the Bovada -1000 favorite while the unlikely upset action on Wood will pay +650 at 5Dimes.
