BOXING BETTING: DECEMBER PREVIEW
ODDSSHARK.COM |  December 05, 2013, 12:00 AM

The first weekend of December will offer boxing betting fans a wide selection of boxing odds as numerous cards are scheduled and lines on at least 10 fights are already available.

In defense of his newly won IBF Middleweight title, Darren Barker (26-1) will face a tough test against Felix Sturm (44-3-2). Currently a slight -120 favorite at 5Dimes to hold onto his belt, Barker will need to take advantage of pace and speed if he’s going to hold onto his title this weekend.

Action on Sturm will currently pay +105 at Bovada and could be worth the risk if the aging former champion has one good fight left in him. Sturm will be coming off an impressive win over Predrag Radosevic and certainly has the experience and skill to pull off the upset and take yet another title.

Devon Alexander (25-1) will put his IBF Welterweight title on the line against the undefeated Shawn Porter (22-0-1). Despite the challenger being undefeated Porter is still handicapped as the boxing odds +460 underdog at 5Dimes. He will be taking a big step up in competition in his first world title fight and will need to rise to the occasion to become the new champ.

Alexander’s only loss was to Tim Bradley and he has been fighting the best in the division for years. As the -550 favorite at Bovada the champ should have the experience to out-smart his younger opponent for what should be a decision or late-fight KO win.

Another fight scheduled for this weekend is the matchup between boxing legend Zab Judah (42-8) and Paulie Malignaggi (32-5). Judah gets the nod as the 5Dimes -165 favorite but it’s the +145 upset option on Malignaggi that looks like it has the most value in this matchup. Judah is coming off a one-sided loss to Danny Garcia and has dropped two of his last three fights.
