Josh Hokit torches Alex Pereira during social media outburst

Josh Hokit has made his feelings clear about Alex Pereira and the UFC’s rumored matchmaking.

‘The Incredible Hok’ has established himself as a legit contender in the UFC, less than a year after joining the promotion. Anomalies come around every so often, and the 6-foot-1 Hokit, who moves like a welterweight and has the heart and grit to match, definitely falls into that category. It has taken the former NFL player just four fights to place himself among the division’s elite, and he has no thoughts of slowing down now.

Josh Hokit is just one of many in the weight class who are in the dark about the future of the heavyweight title. The dilemma lies among a sidelined champion, an interim champion waiting to unify the titles, and an elite contender coming off a loss.

Frustrated with the rumors of a potential Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane rematch, Hokit has shared his opinions online.

“As a fan, that fight makes no f***ing sense,” Hokit said on X. “I watched you get demolished. How about a more favorable matchup like Sergei, who is basically a striker and way less athletic than Ciryl. How about you get one f***ing win in this weight class before you are gifted another title shot.”

The verbal assault didn’t end there. Hokit hit out at the UFC and insisted the sport deserves an American champion, saying:

“When UFC starts letting guys that try to feed carrots to a school bus and Brigitte Macron’s stunt double to do their matchmaking, this company is f***ing cooked. USA pays the bills around here. The fans deserve [an] American champion and a f***ing fight we didn’t just see in June!”

Josh Hokit still wasn’t done yet.

Comparing the Alex Pereira situation to Ilia Topuria‘s reported return, Hokit believed he spoke for all fans when he denounced their eligibility for immediate title-shot rematches.

“Growing up, I loved the UFC and all of its fighters,” Hokit continued. “So it gives me great pleasure to use my platform today to speak the truth: neither Ilia Topuria nor Alex Pereira deserve a f***ing title shot in their next fight. They both got handily destroyed. Make them earn it and fight their way back like everyone else. Sincerely, the fans.”
