What Is UFC 331s $50K Proper Chaos Bonus?
Dana White has added another $50,000 performance incentive to UFC 331, but the new award does not have a defined statistical requirement.
White announced that one fighter competing Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles will receive the “Proper Chaos” bonus. The one-night award is connected to the second-season premiere of the Paramount+ crime series “MobLand.”
The winner will be determined personally by White.
“At UFC 331, we are unlocking the Proper Chaos bonus,” White said in an Instagram video transcribed by Sherdog. “$50,000 awarded to the fighter who I think deserves it most.”
White did not provide specific judging criteria. He also did not say whether the special award can be combined with the UFC’s existing Fight of the Night, Performance of the Night or finish bonuses.
How the UFC 331 Proper Chaos Bonus Works
The promotion introduced the award as a one-time addition rather than a permanent change to its bonus system.
White’s announcement suggests the winner will be the fighter he believes produces the card’s most chaotic or memorable performance. However, a knockout or submission is not an announced requirement.
The bonus promotes the return of “MobLand,” whose second season premieres Friday on Paramount+, one day before UFC 331. MMA Mania reported that the special award is worth $50,000.
The UFC’s standard Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night awards increased from $50,000 to $100,000 in 2026. The promotion also introduced a $25,000 incentive for fighters who record a knockout or submission without receiving one of the primary post-fight awards, according to MMA Fighting.
UFC 331 Features Two Five-Round Fights
Joshua Van will defend the UFC flyweight championship against former champion Alexandre Pantoja in the main event. Van won the title in their first meeting, but the fight lasted 26 seconds after Pantoja suffered an arm injury and could not continue.
Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy will meet in a five-round lightweight co-main event with title implications.
