Israel Adesanya provides Arman Tsarukyan path to victory against Justin Gaethje

Justin Gaethje and Arman Tsarukyan fight talks are heating up, and Israel Adesanya has offered his take on the matchup.

Tsarukyan left no doubt in fans’ minds; he’s next in line for the title. A showstopping performance at UFC 331 saw him secure a knockout win against the knockout artist, Mauricio Ruffy. With Ilia Topuria’s return looming, doubt remains whether the Armenian has leapfrogged the former UFC lightweight champion to a shot at gold.

If he has cemented himself as the frontrunner, Israel Adesanya knows exactly how Arman Tsarukyan beats Justin Gaethje. Giving praise to both men, Adesanya said:

“If they do it: Arman vs. Justin. Stylistically, I see technical chaos from Justin. But Arman is just going to have to grapple. He’s going to have to do what he did [at UFC 331], but even better. Because I think after that last win, Justin overcoming even the third round when he got dropped to the body and then cracking the guy, making him quit on the stool; his confidence is all the way up.”

“Justin’s been knocked down, out, come back, been on top multiple times. So, he’s not fussed about the wins and losses. He just wants to go in there and f*** you up. So, I think total chaos is going to be the thing. It’s what he does; the guy’s f***ing, he’s crazy.”

Adesanya believes the best path to victory for Tsarukyan is following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s game plan. ‘The Eagle’ proved to be too much for Justin Gaethje when they fought at UFC 254 six years ago, and a similar strategy could see Tsarukyan walking away with UFC gold.

“So, Arman to get the job done and be the champ, he’ll have to just heavily wrestle, and do what pretty much Khabib did,” Adesanya added. “Just heavily wrestle. And I think Arman’s big enough, also good enough on the stand-up, that he’ll be able to compete with Justin standing up.”
