Darren Till opens door for UFC return

Darren Till is still open to a UFC return.

‘The Gorilla’ won just one of his last six outings inside the octagon. His rise to the top was quick, resulting in a title shot seven fights into his tenure with the promotion. Since departing the UFC in 2022, Till has been a class act in boxing. The Liverpool native, away from the mixed martial arts game and going back to his striking roots, has managed to string together five wins in a row. Success in Misfits Boxing has led to his recent dominance in BKFC.

His recent run of form has attracted eyes. A blockbuster matchup with Mike Perry lingers, but Darren Till claims a return to the UFC is not off the table.

Still slightly bothered by not fulfilling his potential and becoming a UFC champion, Till revealed that one day he could step back into the octagon.

“It’s hard because I’ll never take it out; it’s in me for life. The thorn. I tried, and I failed. It’s the truth. I got there; I was the first person in Liverpool to bring the UFC to Liverpool and fight for a world title. You know, I’ve got that.

“Look, I wish whoever in the future the best. Whoever’s going to win the world title from Liverpool, whether it be Paddy or anyone else. You know, I’m one of them people. I want people to do well. But I’ll never take that thorn out of me. I got there. I got to the pinnacle. I never won the world title. So what?”

Till continued.

“If I go back, my manager doesn’t want me to go back, but if I go back, yeah, I’ll give it one last shot. But I’m 33 now. I’m still young. I’m still fruitful. I haven’t took no damage, you know? Where some of these fighters have took a lot of damage… Look, I’m on to big things now. I’ve got my team, my family around me. I’ve just got the best team around me. So, wherever this bare-knuckle goes, and after that, pro boxing or Misfits or back to wherever. Let’s just see.”
