UFC 332 loses Bantamweight banger, Marcus McGhee draws dangerous newcomer on three days notice

The ol’ fight-week switcheroo.
No. 15-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight Marcus McGhee was scheduled to collide with exciting prospect Bernardo Sopaj on the UFC 332 “Prelims” this weekend (Sat., Oct. 3, 2026) inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Unfortunately, that banger is no longer happening.
Sopaj has withdrawn from the event, but McGhee will remain on the card and welcome promotional newcomer Anthony Romero to the Octagon on short notice.

McGhee (11-2) returned to the win column in his most recent appearance, defeating John Yannis via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 118.
Before that, “The Maniac” faced current Bantamweight championPetr Yan in the UFC Abu Dhabi co-main event, suffering his first promotional loss. McGhee is 5-1 inside the Octagon with three nasty finishes.
Romero (7-2) enters UFC riding a two-fight winning streak and is coming off a 25-second knockout of former LFA standout Yuma Horiuchi.
The 26-year-old owns an 86 percent finishing rate, with four knockouts and two submissions among his seven professional victories. Romero trains out of the iconic Black House MMA gym in California and will attempt to announce his arrival by upsetting a ranked contender on short notice.
That is a difficult UFC debut, but it also represents a massive opportunity.
