What a terrible past week it was for Mike Perry.

Perry, a UFC veteran turned BKFC star, was lined up to fight Dillon Danis at Duel Arena 1 this past Saturday at Kia Center in his hometown of Orlando, Fla. – that is until Danis pulled out of the fight two days prior. In came journeyman Brandon Jenkins to replace Danis on 48 hours' notice, and then the unexpected happened: Jenkins pulled off a stunning upset, taking the fight to Perry and winning by first-round TKO after Perry dislocated his shoulder during the onslaught.

Perry broke his silence Monday on social media, appearing to be taking everything in stride.

"Health is wealth," Perry wrote on X. "The MMA lifestyle taking care of the body, mind and spirit. The gym helps the process of growing your strength, but strength is needed in other areas of life and should be exercised Everywhere we go. Organize, be consistent, more recovery and stretching. Taking knowledge into my future endeavors. More to work for, more work to do."

As if the outcome wasn't bad enough, it was revealed prior to the fight that Perry would lose out on 50 percent of his purse thanks to Danis' withdrawal.

Perry, 34, was making his second MMA appearance of 2026 after a five-year hiatus from the sport while he built his name in BKFC. Perry defeated Nate Diaz by TKO in May at MVP MMA 1, an outcome that was also the result of injury thanks to a cut over Diaz's eye.

No word on what could come next for Perry.
